Day 3: Northern Arizona - Video
Our day three was a lot of driving. Lots of driving…but in some absolutely stunning areas. After spending a night in Tempe, AZ (and having dinner with my grandparents) we drove up to Flagstaff, which was about a 120 mile 5,500 foot climb. And even though the drive up to Flagstaff was on the interstate, it was still a very pretty drive. We also went from about 65 degrees at 11:00am in Phoenix, to about 39 degrees and snow on the ground in Flagstaff.
We tried on some cowboy hats, Justin was likened to some (apparently famous) bull rider, Tuff Hederman???? I don’t see it. Also grabbed some coffee at a local coffee shop, then on our way out of town we thought it might be a good idea to grab some groceries at the Albertson’s. The idea of me eating dried figs and pitted dates while spending a lot of time in a car was not such a good idea.

Day 2: New Mexico

On day two we started off in Roswell, NM and drove through their modest little Martian downtown. Everything is some sort of UFO shop, or alien coffee, or pretty much anything you’d expect out of an X-Files episode. Then it was off to Bottomless Lakes State Park…I think maybe we had our expectations a little higher than they needed to be. It didn’t suck, per se, but it wasn’t all that cool, more like, “O, cool, little pit lakes. Sweet.”
White Sands National Park, however, was incredible! We spent about an hour and a half walking around a small section of the park, and had a blast. It was incredibly beautiful… – See I too can shoot color photos.

Day 1: Dallas, Texas -to- Roswell, New Mexico Video
Thursday, Justin and I drove from Dallas, Texas to Roswell, New Mexico. No neither one of us are all that into aliens, as we were asked by just about everyone in Roswell,
“…Are y’all interested in aliens?”
Um, no.
So anyway, here’s a brief video of the first leg of our trip. (and for the record, we went to roswell because we thought Bottomless Lakes State Park would be cool)
